On Tuesday, Nov. 10, a stream of honking vehicles passed Glen Hill Marnwood, decorated with words of support for the laid-off Bowmanville frontline long-term care workers.

Rather than being allowed to relocate to a new, long-term care building opening in Whitby in January, approximately 70 workers are being terminated at the end of the year when Marnwood closes.

“We know that work conditions are care conditions. We call on the provincial government to revoke the licence of the new Whitby facility,” said CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick.
