SOLIDARITY RALLY & BBQ – TUESDAY, JULY 21ST 

CUPE 101, representing ‘inside’ municipal workers in the City of London, are on strike to fight their employer’s attempt to extract concessions from their collective agreement. The local’s 750 front-line workers, mostly women, feel targeted because other City workers, including fire, police and the outside unit, retained similar contract language provisions in their last round of contracts. Concession demands include gutting the collective agreement’s language on hours of work, job evaluation, promotions and cutting retiree benefits.
