Bill 67

All of you who work and know people who work in emergency response, know that exposure to Post Traumatic Stress is real and occurs regularly. Currently, claims can take a very long time to process, often taking many years to resolve without any support to those suffering from PTSD during the time. We need to change that. With Bill 67, first responders would not need to prove that their job caused the trauma; this would simply be assumed due to the nature of the work. Click Here to read the bill

Community Builder: Sandra HyndsSandra Hynds

York Region paramedic Sandra Hynds lives by what her parents often told her growing up. “Rich or poor, you always have time to donate,” she says.


Her job experience is woven through the fabric of her community engagement. “My work exposes me to a lot of people in the community” says Hynds, who is a CUPE 905 member. “And my experience as a paramedic gives me a better understanding of the crises people can be in.”

Paramedics Attend OMERS Annual Meeting

In a show of support for pension fairness, Paramedics from across the province travelled to Toronto to attend the OMERS Annual Regional meeting. People came from as far as Sault Ste Marie and Ottawa to bring their message of pension fairness directly to OMERS.



A message to Paramedics About Early Retirement

A copy of a letter sent to paramedics with important information on the issue of early retirement and the campaign to change the OMERS pension plan. This is a joint campaign involving CUPE, OPSEU, SEIU and the CAW.
