Dear CUPE Ontario members,
As we all know, the situation related to COVID-19 is changing rapidly. CUPE Ontario is committed to doing our part to help slow the spreading of this infectious disease in our communities.
CUPE Ontario will be providing regular updates to keep members informed regarding our operations as things change.
Effective Tuesday March 17, 2020 the CUPE Ontario office will be physically closed on Monday, Wednesday & Friday of each week up until April 5, 2020.
We will have a smaller group of staff assigned to work onsite at our office on Tuesday and Thursday of each week.
Members should experience no disruption to services as all staff have been equipped to fully function remotely.
Calls into our office will be re-directed to staff members who are working remotely and all staff will be monitoring emails as usual.
It has been decided that all meetings scheduled to take place at the CUPE Ontario Office between now and April 15, 2020 will be postponed.
We want to thank you for your continued support as we move through these uncharted waters and ask for your patience as we make regular changes as needed to help our community limit the spread of this virus.
Rest assured that at no time will the work of our union stop. We remain fully committed to continuing to provide support to members. Our advocacy efforts in the areas of workers rights and health & safety will intensify as our members are experiencing greater risk on the front lines.
Do not hesitate to contact our office should you require any assistance.
In solidarity
Fred Hahn, CUPE Ontario President
Candace Rennick, CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer
