KENORA, Ont. – A province-wide tour to encourage bans on bottled water in municipal and provincial facilities sponsored by the Council of Canadians and Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario, comes to Kenora on Wednesday, May 6. The six-city speaking tour across northern Ontario features Maude Barlow, National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians and Senior Advisor on Water to the President of the UN General Assembly, and Sid Ryan, CUPE Ontario President.

  WHAT: Town Hall Meeting

  WHEN: Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

  WHERE: Best Western Lakeside Inn
470 1st Avenue South, Kenora, Ontario

The bottled water industry sells water—a shared public resource—for huge profits, undermining our faith in public water. The Unbottle It! speaking tour provides communities with the facts and calls on local governments, school boards community groups and individuals to tap into clean, safe public drinking water.
