WINDSOR, ON – Michael Hurley, President of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions (OCHU), has been re-elected to the Executive Board of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario at the union’s 51st annual convention.

Hurley, who will serve as 1st Vice-President, joins CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn, Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick, and other Board members from across the province in leading Ontario’s largest union.

“Across Ontario, child care centres, hospital beds, schools and other services are closing. Whatever government is elected on June 12, public sector workers will step up the campaign to defend the public services,” says Hurley.

CUPE is Ontario’s community union, with members providing quality public services we all rely on in every part of the province every day. CUPE Ontario members are proud to work in social services, health care, municipalities, school boards, universities and airlines.
