Mobilizing Mondays Banner

September 24th, 2012

On September 11, 2012, the McGuinty Liberal government passed Bill 115, stripping away the rights to free collective bargaining of all education workers in Ontario. We need to tell our MPPs that Bill 115 is wrong and will hurt students, families and communities.

This is the first Mobilizing Mondays of this series. Every week, we will send you two simple actions you can take to help defend public education and let free collective bargaining proceed, ensuring a better future for all Ontarians. If you can, please do both, and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Two-minute action

Visit MessageYourMPP.ca and fill out the form to automatically send your MPP an email. You can do this even if you have visited the site and sent a message before. A new message will be posted every week.

Five-minute action

Call your MPP’s constituency office and schedule a meeting to discuss the impact of Bill 115. A lobby guide with information to help you with this meeting can be found at cupe.on.ca/SupportEducation. Let CUPE Ontario and your district council know so that we can help you prepare and track which MPPs are getting these requests.

To find out how to contact your MPP, visit cupe.on.ca/SupportEducation , click on Take Action button, and enter your postal code into the box.
