THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Ontario’s home care system has already been seriously damaged by the McGuinty government’s continuation of Mike Harris’ contracting out policy. Further harm may be moments away if the province proceeds with plans to lift its ban on competitive bidding. Service contracts expired March 31 and the government has not indicated its intentions. Union officials, health care experts and home care workers will warn the public of the possible impact at a Thunder Bay news conference on April 20.
