Four employees of the Canadian Hearing Society in North Bay were joined on the picket line by a couple dozen locked-out Children’s Aid Society workers Monday morning.
The Canadian Hearing Society workers, members of CUPE local 2073, hit the picket line Monday morning after last-ditch talks on the weekend failed to reach an agreement.
The workers have been without a contract since 2013. A CUPE spokesman said the union was trying to reach an agreement that would have provided “modest wage increases to cover the cost of living” since the contract expired.
