LONDON, Ont. – In the first of several planned protests across Ontario, school support workers from Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) will hold a “Rally for Respect” in downtown London, Ontario, on Tuesday, December 10.
At 4:00 p.m., after the end of their work day, school support workers will gather to protest continuing unfair treatment by TVDSB.
The rally takes place on the same day as the board’s inaugural public meeting.
Thames Valley District School Board is one of a dozen in the province that refuses to implement the terms of the collective agreement it signed with its support workers earlier this year.
Media are invited to the Rally for Respect, organized by CUPE Locals 7575 and 4222, to learn more about the issues affecting London and area school support workers.
Who: School Support Workers in London and area public schools:
educational assistants, early childhood educators, school custodians, IT workers, child and youth workers, school secretaries, library assistants, maintenance workers, speech pathologists

Terri Preston, Chair, Ontario School Board Coordinating Committee
