TORONTO, Ont. – Negotiations between the University of Toronto (U of T) and

Local 3902 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 3902) are continuing under a mediator-imposed blackout.

“We are mindful of the fact that there is an urgency to these negotiations, and recognize that our negotiating team needs to direct all its energies into bargaining a collective agreement that protects and enhances learning conditions for all U of T students, and is fair to our members,” said Wayne Dealy, Chair of CUPE 3902.

Local 3902 members will be updated on the status of negotiations tomorrow. Until that meeting has concluded, Local 3902 will not be making any further public comment. Any new developments will also appear on Local 3902’s website, cupe3902.org .

Local 3902 represents more than 7,000 sessional instructors, teaching assistants and other contract instructional staff of the University of Toronto, Victoria University and the University of St. Michael’s College.
