About Us
The International Solidarity Committee was set up in recognition of the global nature of the struggle for workers’ rights. With a global capitalist economy, challenging the power of a single government becomes more and more difficult. With that in mind, the International Solidarity Committee supports efforts to link CUPE members to other struggles throughout the world. It works to educate members on the situation faced by workers in other countries by bringing representatives of other unions to Ontario and acts as a forum to share information about the connections between our lives and the work of others abroad.

A Brief History of CUPE Ontario Palestine Solidarity
In May 2006, CUPE Ontario members directed our Union to create an educational campaign about the occupation of Palestinian lands by the State of Israel. In October 2023, this call was reiterated at our National Union’s convention by the adoption of Emergency Resolution 804. This information sheet provides a brief history of the work our Union and others have done to educate our members on the ongoing occupation. It also provides steps Locals can take to educate their members. Below are links to resources that Locals can utilize in calling for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands and supporting a just and lasting peace. (See more..)
