WINDSOR, ON – Library workers with the Windsor Public Library ratified a new four-year collective agreement earlier today, says the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
“This has been a long and stressful bargaining process and now that bargaining is behind us, our members can focus on what we do best – serving our community with their library needs,” said Amanda Meloche, spokesperson for CUPE 2067.
The new contract includes wage increases and language improvements. “This is the first time in our bargaining history that we have faced a legal lockout or strike deadline,” continued Meloche. “Obviously, there are workplace issues that need to be addressed and we are hopeful that management will focus on improving the workplace and the library environment.”
