(Oakville, ON) -Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 136, outside municipal workers in the Town of Oakville, reached a tentative agreement, averting a strike that began on November 2.

“I am proud of the bargaining team and of my coworkers for sending a powerful message and for the work we’ve done at the table,” said Peter Knafelc, president of CUPE Local 136. “We’re now prepared to present the tentative deal to the membership and bring it to a ratification vote.”

A ratification is upcoming soon. No further information regarding the tentative agreement will be publicly available until the ratification process is completed.
