Across Canada, students and supporters are mobilizing to hit the streets on February 1, 2012 to call for a high-quality post-secondary education system that is equitable and free of financial barriers.
Over the years, decisions made by from all levels of government have created a post-secondary education system that is increasingly exclusive, and which burdens students with record debt levels thanks to a loan-based financial aid system.
Ontario students currently pay the highest tuition fees in the country, receive less government investment in their education than students in any other province, sit in the largest classes, and have the least access to professors.
The same policy-makers who have allowed tuition fees to skyrocket benefitted from a highly subsidized, high-quality post-secondary education system. They are now eroding that system for the next generation.
It is time for a change.
Join the movement on February 1st . Events are planned for Toronto, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Windsor and Sault Ste. Marie. For more information visit EducationIsARight.ca
