The Health Care Workers Coordinating Committee is looking for participants to provide stories and perspectives in an upcoming video campaign about challenges and experiences at work.

Our goal through this video is to increase public awareness of the essential work that members do in this sector, as well as the shortcomings and difficulties that have been getting worse in recent years. Through this public attention we will increase pressure on the provincial government and employers across the province, stressing the urgent need to fix the various problems in the health care sector.

The video will be shared across various media platforms and websites. We aim to foreground the diversity and range of experiences that exist in this sector.

We are seeking voices from the following professions:

We aim to highlight a variety of experiences and issues in the sector. Some of the issues we want to hear testimonial about include:

  • Registered Nurses

  • Registered Practical Nurses

  • Hospital dietary workers

  • Service and maintenance workers

  • Clerical staff

  • Personal Support Workers

  • Ambulance and Paramedical personnel

  • Excessive workloads

  • Extended hours

  • Staff shortages

  • Lack of equipment and supplies, including PPE

  • Lack of space in hospitals and other health care facilities

  • Incidents of violence in the workplace

  • Workers with multiple jobs due to low wages
