TORONTO – CUPE Local 416 is proud to bring back the third annual Fore the Kids in the Six golf event being held on Thursday August 31 at the City of Toronto’s Tam O’Shanter municipal golf course. This event will benefit children aged 10-14 and give them an opportunity to participate in the game of golf; a sport that is out of reach for many.
This year, a group of more than 50 youth will benefit from Fore the Kids in the Six, which will highlight the affordable opportunities that are available to all at city-owned golf courses while introducing a new sport to an up-and-coming generation to build interest and foster the next generation of golfers.
Through partnerships with community-based organizations, youth from across the city will participate in the event and receive golf lessons and an opportunity to play the game. They will also receive back-to-school backpacks and gifts to start the upcoming school year, thanks to donations from Golf Canada and other partners.
The City of Toronto has exceptional, well maintained public golf courses that are worthy of being showcased and fully utilized by all, particularly our future generations.
