Congratulations to the dedicated and resilient education workers of Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) CUPE Local 4155 for their remarkable success in defeating the proposed contracting-out concession language and achieving a tentative agreement.

Previous Information:
CUPE 4155 members, the frontline education workers of Conseil Scolaire de District Catholique de l’Est Ontarien (CSDCEO), could be on strike later this week.
They’re fighting to get contracting out concessions off the table so they can have a fair collective agreement.
Take action right now by sending your own message to CSDCEO trustees and senior managers.
CSDCEO trustees and senior managers,
I’m emailing to urge you to get back to the bargaining table with CUPE 4155 education workers today and to withdraw your proposals that would expand contracting out.
Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) frontline education workers could legally be on strike as of 12:01 a.m. this Thursday, November 23 because of management’s proposals to expand contracting out.
Contracting out more work would mean paying bosses of private companies more and frontline workers less. It also risks the safety of students.
The better solution is for CSDCEO to organize some work to make the jobs better so it’s easier to recruit workers to do them.
This bargaining impasse can be resolved quickly. You just need to take your contracting out concessions off the table. It’s as simple as that.
It’s time for you to reach a fair agreement with the CUPE 4155 workers’ bargaining committee and avert the first local strike by frontline education workers anywhere in Ontario this year.
Please act swiftly to avoid any disruptions to the school year and to ensure good jobs for our communities.
Sincerely,
