This Mother’s Day, join CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick at a rally to support CUPE 1281 member Gilary Massa. After seven years as a respected employee at the Ryerson Students’ Union, Gilary was fired 3 months into her maternity leave and replaced by a friend of the RSU Executive.

Why this issue matters:

Supporting Gilary is not just about defending a single person. Employers in Canada far too often disregard workers’ rights and fire women on maternity leave. Please come out this Mother’s Day to defend Gilary’s rights and the rights of all parents, women, and workers across the country!
