Greetings CUPE Ontario members,
We are hosting a second Public Health Forum for our members working in public health units across the province on Tuesday, December 12th, 6-8 PM. The working group will present the provincial public health campaign plan and we will have a discussion about coordinating the provincial campaign with local public health campaigns using cost shares. We will hear from health units across the province about trends and how we can use the campaign to bring attention to important issues.
On the agenda:
– The working group will provide an update on the provincial public health campaign strategy
– We will discuss trends regarding programs/services, staffing, wages and bargaining
– Get a mini tutorial on cost shares to help fund your individualized community-focused public health campaign
Our first forum in November was a success thanks to over 100 members from various health unit locals who participated in the forum. It was a valuable opportunity to meet and start a communication network across the health units. Better communication will allow us to build capacity because we know that working together in a coordinated manner is key to achieving gains for our members and our communities. Let’s keep the momentum going! Encourage your executive to attend and please share the invitation with your members.
