The Paremedic Ride is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteer paramedics and cyclists committed to raising funds to build a National Paramedic Memorial Monument in our nation’s capital. Since 1988, 38 Canadian paramedics have lost their lives in the line of duty. These include Brother Billy Mallock, an air ambulance worker and member of CUPE 4848, who died in a crash in Grand Manon Island.

The conclusion of the ceremony will see cyclists begin the four-day ride to Ottawa.
