Workers across Ontario Celebrate Library Week!

October 19-26 is Library Week in Ontario, and library workers across the province marked the occasion with postcards, buttons and some sweet treats.

The celebrations and information sessions coincided with National Public Library Month and Ontario Public Library Week. The event was organized by the CUPE Locals representing library workers in the communities where they were held, and CUPE Ontario’s Library Workers’ Committee.

Events are taking place this week in the following communities:

• Brampton
• Cobourg
• Mississauga
• Oshawa
• Peterborough
• Toronto

The public events are an opportunity for library works to connect with the people they serve, as well as others, while highlighting the importance of libraries in the community.
