Day of Action at Queen’s Park on the Private Clinics:

Deliver Tens of Thousands of Ballots from Our Citizen-Led Referendum to the Ontario Legislature

Fill the Gallery of the Legislature to Hear the Debate

Wednesday May 14, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon

*note volunteer lobbyists will stay for the afternoon.

Queen’s Park, Main Legislative Building, Toronto

Join us Wednesday May 14 to deliver the results of our citizen-led referendum to Queen’s Park. We would like to invite as many people as possible for the morning events. Beginning promptly at 9:30 a.m. there will be a briefing on the grass outside the south facing main doors at Queen’s Park, followed with a media event at 10 a.m. to deliver the ballot boxes up to the front doors of Queen’s Park. At 10:30 a.m. we invite everyone to head into the Legislature to fill the gallery for Question Period. Help us to maximize the pressure on the Premier to stop the private clinics before it is too late. *If you or others are planning to come, we must know the names so that everyone can get into the gallery of the Legislature for Question Period.* The deadline for us to receive your names is the end of the day, Friday May 9.

A number of Coalition members will stay for the afternoon to participate in meetings with their MPPs. This info is for the volunteer lobbyists only. After question period has wrapped up at 11:45 a.m. all afternoon lobby participants will leave Queen’s Park and head over to the Medical Sciences Building to grab lunch. There is a cafeteria and Tim Hortons. Please take your lunch “to-go” and meet us in classroom 2172 of the Medical Sciences Building for a lunch hour briefing session, which will run from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in preparation for the afternoon lobby meetings. Once we have finished the briefing, all participants will head back to Queen’s Park for their lobby meetings throughout the afternoon. We will congregate in the cafeteria (in the basement of Queen’s Park) so that people can come back and meet us after their meetings throughout the afternoon.
