PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The presidents of the three City of Peterborough CUPE municipal locals will receive the Peterborough and District Labour Council’s Community Service Award for their contribution to the City of Peterborough and their tireless efforts for service to, and the well-being of, the community.
The award will be presented at Labour Achievement Night, Friday, October 21, at the Peterborough Navy Club festivities beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Lynda Bolton, president of CUPE 126 (inside workers), Pat Crough, president of CUPE 504 (outside workers), and Marisa Giuliani, president of CUPE 1833 (library workers), those receiving the award, represent 500 employees, and their combined years of service for the City of Peterborough is 45 years.
This trio founded the Coalition of Peterborough Municipal Workers. Along with these three CUPE presidents, the coalition includes the City of Peterborough Firefighters and the Peterborough and District Labour Council. The Coalition has actively worked to inform their members and the community of the importance of city services.
