Positive
Space challenges the patterns of silence that continue to marginalize lesbians,
gays, bisexuals, and transgender people even in environments with
anti-discriminatory and inclusive policies. The most visible symbol is an
inverted rainbow triangle.

If
you notice a rainbow triangle poster or sticker on a door, it is a sign that
people in that space are supportive of LGBT people and our allies.

Positive
Space is a reflection of a commitment to welcome and include all members of the
community and to create a safe space that is free of discrimination and
harassment based on gender and sexual identity.

Positive
Space brings visibility and support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,
transsexual, two-spirited and queer people, and their friends and allies.

The
presence of the Positive Space posters and stickers raises awareness of the
differences that exists in our community and sensitizes others to both subtle
and overt forms of heterosexism, homophobia and transphobia.
