The deadline for Convention Committee Applications is March 1st, 2011.  Your name must be submitted to CUPE Ontario on behalf of your local President by this date

Some of the most important contributions to every CUPE Ontario Convention are carried out by the five convention committees.  Membership to these committees is open only to convention delegates, except in the case of the Distribution committee where you must be a member in good standing, but do not have to be a convention delegate.

If you would like to serve on a convention committee and meet the above requirements, ensure that your name is submitted on behalf of your local to [email protected] by March 1st so that selections may be made.

Below is a short description of each Convention committee.

Resolutions committee:

The Resolutions committee meets prior to convention to make recommendations on all resolutions submitted to CUPE Ontario.  The resolutions are presented at Convention based on the order of the day.

In order to participate as a member of the resolutions committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.

The Resolutions committee is scheduled to meet in the CUPE Ontario office on Thursday & Friday, April 14 & 15.

Constitution committee:

The Constitution committee meets prior to convention to make recommendations on all constitutional amendments submitted to CUPE Ontario.  The amendments and committee recommendations are presented at Convention based on the order of the day.

In order to participate as a member of the resolutions committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.

The Constitution committee is scheduled to meet in the CUPE Ontario office on Tuesday & Wednesday, April 26 & 27.

Ways & Means Committee:

The Ways & Means Committee prepares the proposed budget for the upcoming year along with the Secretary-Treasurer of CUPE Ontario. 

In order to participate as a member of the Ways & Means committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.

Credentials Committee:

The Credentials Committee helps to pack the convention kits on Tuesday, May 24th, and helps register delegates at the registration desk throughout convention.

In order to participate as a member of the Credentials committee you must be a registered delegate to convention.

Distribution Committee:

The Distribution Committee distributes official Convention materials on the convention floor.  To serve on the Distribution Committee, you must be a CUPE member in good standing, however you do not have to be a convention delegate.
