Dawn Dodge

Candidate for:
Grantham Ward 5 Councillor

Why are you running in the Municipal Election?

I am running for my fourth term as Councillor for Grantham Ward. City
Council has given me the opportunity to help residents. City rules and
regulations can be, at times, confusing for them. I like to help people
with these difficult situations and I look forward to listening to fresh
ideas that improve the quality of life for St. Catharines.

Well respected member of council

I have a proven track record by:

• Serving on the City’s Budget Committee with a vision to provide quality public services while keeping taxes in line.

• Successfully lobbying to get a signalized pedestrian crosswalk on Linwell Road at Ina Grafton Gage Village to assist the seniors in our community.

• Moving to have the Grantham Branch of the Public Library relocate to the Aquatics Centre facility, thereby saving the taxpayers dollars and making the library totally accessible and a state-of-the-art facility.

Further, I have enhanced and improved public services by:

• Working with Transit officials to purchase hybrid buses which reduce carbon emissions, are more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

• Continuing to resolve the erosion issues that develop throughout the Grantham Ward creek systems.

• Maintaining efficient use of tax dollars for improvement projects such as the Performing Arts Centre, Aquatics Centre and library, hospital and the downtown parking garage.

• Continuing to work hard for the residents to improve transit services with Sunday services and the acquisition of more hybrid buses.
