TOWN OF PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON – The Town of Plympton-Wyoming municipal workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), reached a tentative settlement with their employer on Friday, averting a potential service disruption of the town’s roads maintenance and snow removal.

“We are pleased that we could reach a settlement prior to the deadline,” said Greg Atkinson, unit chair of CUPE 2393.2. “Now we can focus on doing our work of maintaining the roads and keeping them safe and clean for our residents.”

The workers already ratified their contract. Details of the collective agreement will not be released until the town council has an opportunity to review and ratify the tentative settlement this week.

The eight outside workers maintain public roads, including snow removal and water and sewer maintenance. The workers’ contract expired on June 30, 2015.
