It is with the greatest of sadness that we deliver to you today the heartbreaking news of the death of our colleague and friend, Sister Lynn Mackenzie. Lynn recently retired as secretary from the CUPE National Peterborough Office after 20 years of dedicated service to CUPE. On behalf of all of us here at CUPE Ontario, we have taken the liberty of sending out to Lynn’s family, friends and colleagues, our most heartfelt condolences and sympathy.

Sister Lynn will be deeply missed, leaving behind fond, wonderful memories as a loving mother, grandmother, partner, union sister and defender for CUPE and the labour movement. But as we grieve Lynn’s death, we must also celebrate Lynn’s life, her adventurous spirit, love of life, positive outlook, her tireless fight for her Peterborough locals and labour movement.

Such an extraordinary person and truly a great loss to our CUPE family and community. Sister Lynn Mackenzie will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Know that our thoughts are with her family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time. Words, no matter how kind, can’t mend your heartache. However, those who cared for Lynn wish her loved ones comfort and peace of mind.
