OTTAWA, ON – Carleton staff will see their numbers on the picket line swell today as some 300 fellow members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will join the striking workers at 4 p.m.
These representatives from CUPE’s committees and national leadership are in Ottawa to attend a country-wide union meeting. They will join the picket line to demonstrate their support for Carleton’s administrative, technical, and library staff, on strike since yesterday to protect their pensions at the university and to safeguard the pensions of future Carleton workers.
