WINDSOR, ON – With Thanksgiving Day fast approaching, volunteers from Local 543 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 543) are preparing to distribute Thanksgiving dinners with all the trimmings to 600 families who otherwise might have missed out.

 

Beginning Friday, October 7 (tomorrow), CUPE 543 will fan out to 10 food banks and community agencies across the city, distributing 500 turkeys, 100 chickens, and bags containing all the trimmings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

 

CUPE 543 President Mark Vander Voort will join volunteers tomorrow at the Unemployed Help Centre (UHC) located at 6955 Cantelon Drive. Distribution at UHC begins tomorrow at 10 a.m., ending at 3:30 p.m.
