Our city’s inside workers make Cornwall a wonderful place to live. They deliver social services for families in crisis, keep our water safe, run recreation programs, support public workers, and ensure city services stay accessible and reliable.
Instead of supporting them and investing in services, the City of Cornwall laid off 14 workers.
When staffing is cut, residents suffer – with delays, reduced access, longer wait times, and weakened services.
A fair deal for workers is a fair deal for Cornwall.
Send a message to the City of Cornwall to stand behind public services and the people who deliver them.
Subject: I support CUPE 3251 members
Dear Mayor Towndale and members of Cornwall City Council,
I live in Cornwall and rely on Cornwall city services. I am writing to ask that City Council negotiate a fair deal with CUPE 3251 members that invests in services, protects jobs, and respects workers.
These workers provide essential services that residents rely on. Their efforts keep our communities accessible, inclusive, and healthy.
Recent layoffs and bargaining delays are putting essential services at risk. You simply cannot reduce staff by 14 people and re-assign the workload without burning out workers or adding long delays.
I am calling on you to do right by residents and workers. Cornwall deserves strong public services. That starts with supporting the workers who deliver them.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
