TORONTO, ON – On Thursday, workers at La Farandole childcare centre in Toronto voted unanimously to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
“Caring for and educating our children is important work, and early childhood educators deserve respect. At La Farandole, workers are looking forward to improving their working environment and to being supported in raising concerns with management,” said Marc Lafrance, a CUPE representative who has been involved in the organizing drive.
CUPE is the largest union in Canada, representing more than 700,000 workers in education, healthcare, municipalities, social services, universities, transport and communications
