Carleton Place, ON –  A tentative agreement was reached early today between CUPE Local 1521.02 and Community Living Association Lanark County after a long night of tough bargaining.   If ratified by the parties, the agreement will mean an end to a strike that began July 04th at the Community Living Association Lanark County.

“This strike has been about our commitment to quality service and ensuring a stable work environment” said Doreen Beath, CUPE National Representative. “The support of the community has been greatly appreciated.”

All CUPE Local 1521.02 members are being asked to attend a union meeting in Carleton Place, Ontario on Thursday to hear details of the tentative settlement and to conduct a ratification vote.

CUPE will not release details until the terms of settlement have been reported to the membership and voted upon.

The Community Living Association Lanark County Board is expected to ratify the agreement on Wednesday afternoon.

Community living workers, members of CUPE, provide support and care for adults with intellectual disabilities.
