THUNDER BAY, Ont. CUPE 3905 Teaching and Graduate Assistants (TAs and GAs) at Lakehead University have reached an agreement with the university averting strike action.
Its been a long hard fight, said Mike Walters, CUPE National Representative. But we finally have a deal that is acceptable with an improved wage and benefits package.
Now, our members can move on to their summer work or studies knowing that when they resume work at Lakehead in the fall they will be appropriately compensated.
Issues during negotiations included wages, benefits and job security.
