STURGEON FALLS, Ont. – Developmental services and personal support workers at Community Living West Nipissing, members of Local 4710 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), reached a tentative agreement in mediation talks today, averting a lockout or strike.

“We are happy we reached a negotiated settlement, before the lockout deadline, and we will be presenting it to CUPE 4710 members for ratification votes over the weekend,” said CUPE National Representative Fran Ludwick.

Details of the agreement will not be released until it has been reviewed and ratified by members of CUPE 4710.
