Route supervisors, garage supervisors and special constables, members of CUPE 5500, will vote on Monday, December 22, whether to ratify the tentative deal. The deal, reached late this afternoon, would replace the old collective agreement, which expired March 31, 2008.
CUPE 5500 represents 140 workers who serve as supervisors and special constables for OC Transpo. Garage Supervisors coordinate and regulate the work done by mechanics to maintain fleet vehicles; Route Supervisors work in the field monitoring transit service schedules and quality. Special Constables work to ensure passenger security.
City Council is expected to hold its ratification vote at its next Council meeting.
