This Valentine’s Day, CUPE Ontario and its long-term care locals will hold information pickets at local MPP constituency offices. We’re calling on the Ontario government to keep its promises to introduce staffing and care standards in long-term care facilities.

It’s time to stop the shameful conditions in Ontario nursing homes resulting from understaffing. Our loved ones, vulnerable and frail residents in nursing homes deserve an average 3.5 hours of care each day.

It is vitally important that locals contact their MPP for a meeting and picket their MPP’s constituency office on February 14th.

By demonstrating a huge turnout across the province, CUPE Ontario, its locals and members can show Minister Smitherman that we will not stop until the government introduces staffing standards and a 3.5 standard of care.

Radio Campaign Launches Feb. 11

Tell your MPP and Minister Smitherman:
It’s Time to Care. Introduce 3.5 hours now!
