TORONTO, ON – The president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario will join members from across the region for a rally supporting CUPE Local 3903 at York University tomorrow.

CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn will be joined by Janice Folk-Dawson, who chairs the union’s universities sector, and Toronto & York Region Labour Council President John Cartwright. The rally will call on the province to end the chronic underfunding at the root of labour disruptions at York University and the University of Toronto. Tuition fees continue to rise while academic workers in low-paid, precarious jobs fall further below the poverty line.
