CUPE 3902 Unit 1 members at the University of Toronto are on Strike. U of T graduate funding has been frozen at $15,000 since 2008. Every year, as the cost of living skyrockets, the real value of their funding shrinks.
The university has been running a $200 million surplus the last two years. Yet TAs at Canada’s richest and, purportedly best, public university live at 35% below the poverty line. At the stame time, tuition rates continue to climb and class sizes increase.
