THOROLD, ON – The fourth annual CUPE Family Day will take place this Saturday, June 14, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Residents of communities across Niagara are invited to join in the day of fun, including a free barbeque, live music by Renegade, and a jump zone for the kids.

“CUPE members put on Family Day because this is their community. Our members live, work and raise their families here,” says Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario President Fred Hahn, who will join the fun on Saturday afternoon. “Every day, our members provide vital public services to support the community. As a union, we work to build a better Ontario for everyone.”

The event is hosted by the CUPE Niagara District Council. CUPE members proudly provide quality public services across the Niagara region. We work in social services, health care, municipalities, school boards, universities and airlines.

“We’re looking forward to a day of fun with our neighbours, our friends and our families,” says District Council President Susan Schmidt. “Our Family Day is just one of many ways that CUPE members work to promote fairness and support our community. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.”

Hahn is available for interviews in advance of the event.
