NORTH BAY, ON – Fred Hahn, president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario, will be in North Bay to support NDP Candidate Henri Giroux at a free community barbeque Saturday.

“Henri Giroux is the perfect person for Nipissing, unlike Vic Fedeli, the current millionaire MPP, who is out of touch with the people of this riding,” says Hahn. “Henri works on the front line in a long-term care home and has raised his family in this community. He knows what people in this community need.”

“Henri knows that cutting front-line public service providers means losing services – losing hospital beds, child care spaces and people who support learning,” says Hahn. “Fedeli, on the other hand, is Tim Hudak’s right hand as finance critic and is supporting a plan that will cost this community more than 1250 jobs. To me, the choice is clear. Voters in Nipissing are lucky they have a candidate like Henri Giroux to vote for.”

WHO: NDP Candidate Henri Giroux and CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn

WHAT: Free community BBQ

WHERE: North Bay Circle Lake Park

WHEN: Saturday, June 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

CUPE is Ontario’s community union, with members providing quality public services we all rely on in every part of the province every day. CUPE Ontario members are proud to work in social services, health care, municipalities, school boards, universities and airlines.
