NORTH BAY, Ont. – Local 4616 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 4616), along with their supporters, will hold a news conference tomorrow, February 25 at 10:30 a.m. at CUPE’s North Bay Area Office, located at 120 Lakeshore Drive.


CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn, joined by CUPE staff and members of CUPE 4616 will update media on recent developments regarding the prolonged defensive strike in the Township of Bonfield and its impact on residents of that community.


CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn and other CUPE representatives are available for on-camera and one-on-one interviews following their brief presentation. A detailed backgrounder will be provided at that time.

Sixteen Bonfield municipal workers have been on strike since August 1, after the Town’s Mayor tried to force the workers to accept major concessions by imposing his own terms and conditions.
