March 31st marks the expiry of the 2004 Health Accord and the federal government has refused to negotiate a new accord.

We are sounding the alarm to alert Canadians to the end of federal leadership in health care and cuts of $36 billion to health transfers over 10 years.

We are asking you to organize actions in your community on March 31st. Any action, big or small, is important! Hold a rally, distribute pamphlets, organize a public forum, or gather in front of Conservative MPs’ offices.

Sound the alarm by bringing noisemakers, pots and pans, and alarm clocks to your events. Other ideas for actions are posted on the Canadian Health Coalition’s website, along with resource materials to support your actions. Visit our website regularly as we will continue to add materials leading up to the event.

Please see the attached poster about the event and distribute this email widely.

Ken Johnston of the Ontario Health Coalition is the contact person for events in Ontario.  He can be reached at 416-441-2502 or  [email protected]

Let him know by Friday, February 28th what you’re organizing in your community so we can add it to our map of actions taking place across the country. Please indicate what you are planning, when and where it will take place, and the contact person (along with their email and phone #).
