MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – In the wake of an agreement last week between the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and Peel District School Board ending the unequal treatment among the board’s workers, CUPE school support workers at the region’s Catholic board are demanding to know why their employer continues to single them out for inconsistent and arbitrary treatment.
School support staff from Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board will hold a “Rally for Respect” as they take their demands for fair treatment to the streets of Mississauga.
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School board is one of only 11 boards in the province refusing to implement CUPE’s 2012 agreement with the province.
Media are invited to attend the Rally for Respect, organized in support of CUPE Locals 2026 and 1483, to learn more about the issues affecting CUPE school support workers employed by Dufferin-Peel.
