PEMBROKE, Ont. – After a bargaining session that lasted into the early hours, representatives of CUPE Local 5088 reached a tentative agreement with Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley (CLUOV). The agreement, if ratified by members, will be the first contract negotiated with CLUOV since workers joined the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in 2011.

The union represents 76 developmental service workers who support some 150 adults with developmental disabilities in the communities of Head, Clara and Maria; Laurentian Hills; Deep River; Petawawa; Laurentian Valley; and Pembroke.

Details of the agreement will not be released until members of CUPE local 5088 have reviewed them and put the contract to a vote for ratification.
