THOROLD, ON – The third annual CUPE Family Day in the Park will take place this Saturday, September 7, from noon to 4 p.m. Residents of communities across Niagara are invited to join in the day of fun, including a free barbeque, live music, potato sack races and bouncy castles for the kids.

“CUPE members put on the Family Day in the Park because this is their community. Our members live, work and raise their families here,” says Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario President Fred Hahn, who will join the fun on Saturday afternoon. “Every day, our members provide vital public services to support the community. And as a union, we work to promote fairness and to improve the lives of all Ontarians.”

The event is hosted by the CUPE Niagara District Council.

“We’re looking forward to a day of fun with our neighbours, our friends and our families,” says District Council President Susan Schmidt. “Our Family Day in the Park is just one of many ways that CUPE members work to promote fairness and support our community.”

Hahn is available for interviews in advance of the event.
