On Thursday, August 8, a busload of CUPE Ontario members from the Barrie area arrived at Bonfield town hall. The members held a lively solidarity picket in support of 16 municipal workers who were forced into a defensive strike after their employer tried to impose terms and conditions after bargaining ended.

Several Locals from the Barrie area participated, as did Locals from North Bay and other communities around Bonfield. The members were joined by CUPE Ontario 1st Vice-President Michael Hurley and 4th Vice-President Henri Giroux.

CUPE Ontario will hold a solidarity BBQ at Bonfield Town Hall on Tuesday, August 13th from 4-7 p.m. Join us and show these brave workers that they do not stand alone.
