ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – In a show of solidarity, hundreds of members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) attending the CUPE Ontario Social Service workers’ conference in Niagara Falls will join striking Lincoln County Humane Society workers on Friday, March 23, at 12:15 p.m., for a solidarity picket.
“As the strike enters its fourth week, our members remain resolute to fight for a fair workplace and our sisters and brothers from across Ontario are here to support our stand to stop a two-tier workplace,” said Dean Mainville, CUPE National Representative.

The 11 front line animal welfare workers have been on strike since Friday, February 24. Management demands include lower wages for new hires, with no benefits, creating a two-tier workplace.
