The staff at the York University Faculty Association (YUFA) have been on strike since October 27th, 2025. As of January 19th, workers would have been on strike for 13 weeks.
Their employer – a union – has proposed to restructure the workplace by hiring two new non-unionized managers while weakening staff’s contracting-out and job security protections. The employer is also refusing to strengthen harassment and discrimination protections for their staff.
